Hallowe'en Misery & Confusion

Hi fiends,

Here's a mixtape that only people who are literally right on the edge of good/evil/don't know; played to those of weak constitution it may push you into the next category.

If I'm not impaled, I will be spinning this brand of audio molestation at Sameheads in Berlin this Sunday whilst people eat fried food, possibly of human origin.

It's going to be foul, don't come.

Steady Flossin'

This weekend I've been invited to the type of place so posh that James Bond's boss would have trouble getting into, the Hotel Me in Poblenou.

If you're feeling glamourous come down (up?) to the elevated bar and check me out backed up by the ever classy team from Elegant Distortion.

Zodiac's Back

Making tentative steps back into the field of party-throwing, here's the one-time World's Most Famous Virgin sitting atop a flyer for this weekend's most unmissable masked-disco party in Poblenou.

Some blurb I half wrote:

"An intimate event dedicated to the most virtuous of cumpleanyeros, Masked Ballers Burn Baby Burn combine with Astral Amblers Zodiac to present VIRGO.

"So innocent are our hosts that they insist all identities at the event remain hidden behind masks as the select certain someones gather to rejoice at the turning of another constellation.

"Providing sounds of playful variety and surprising depth will be SUNNY GRAVES, known on occasion as JAHBITAT, SLICK DIXXX, and DJ ROGER C.

"The venue is a precious corner of Poblenou, so far ignored by the socialites, whose cosy bar and dancefloor is uninfringed by curtain-twitching neighbour types.
"Both timetable and guest list are strictly limited, so make sure your 4 euro advance payment is made in good time to one of the event's 'administrators' and that you are there plenty early."

Making use of all the disco I picked up in England's cheap and pleasant charity shops, here's a special mix one time for your mind:

Cop This

Alex James might be a Tory twat but his ex (?) bandmate Damon Albarn doesn't seem to spend his free time swanning around with prize shitehawks such as Jeremy Clarkson & David Cameron.

No, the ex (?) lead singer of Blur has gathered together a top selection of electronic producers to contribute to this compilation described below.

"Kinshasa One Two was recorded in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo over 5 days this past July. DRC Music (a collective of producers gathered by Damon Albarn) set out to make an album with contemporary Congolese musicians and worked with more than 50 local performers including Jupiter and the Okwess InternationalBokatola System and Nelly LiyemgeDRC Music is comprised of producers: T-E-E-D (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs)Dan The AutomatorJneiro JarelRichard RussellActress,Marc AntoineAlwestRemi KabakaRodaidh McDonald and Kwes, with album artwork by Aitor Throup and Hardy Blechman. The Democratic Republic of Congo has long been wracked by conflict and is home to one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. Proceeds from the album will benefit the local performers and Oxfam's work in Congo."

"We feel incredibly fortunate to be involved in the journey that culminated in Kinshasa One Two. It's completely, brilliantly, unlike anything Warp has undertaken before, but nonetheless feels like a very natural endeavour for us to be a part of. We're supremely grateful to all the artists, musicians and producers who joined together to create this amazing record and shared a vision of contributing in some small way to benefit the people of the DRC."
