Skreaming 'Garage' all over the place...

Skream is still the best! If I don't mind saying so myself. We all know about the current shelf-life of artists, especially on scenes in the major cities around the world. Why is Skream still top of the pile? His productions and remixes are insanely good, take La Roux, he made it good. Not good, amazing!! Better than the original and something you record labels may made need to watch out for. Haha.

"The Croydon dubstep original has leaked an mp3 file titled '2step' that contains a brief mix of new material in demo form, the last track of which is his take on Khan's 'Pearl's Dream'." FACT

Definitely worth a check.

Ok, ok... Fresh South Africa. BLK JKS.

They have a fresh album out right now... TODAY... 'After Robots', available from Rough Trade Records.

"by entangling the music they love - township blues, fringe jazz and renegade dub - into the dna of prog, blk jks have provocatively pulled afro-futurism into a new century."

BLK JKS - Summertime

BLK JKS - Lakeside

WE LOVE THEM.

It's all huge soundsystems, Kwaito, heavy bass and hollering...

Seeing England's players striving to impress Fabio Capello in recent games is getting really exciting for England hopes in next years World Cup Final in South Africa. Got me thinking about what's going on down there music wise... A hell of a lot is the answer. Might need some energy to keep up, it seems music and dancing are totally integral. Makes sense.

We know all about Township Funk from the Warp Records new boy Mujava. We hope to hell he pulls out another banger soon. Here's a few pretty old findings... Searching for the freshess in the next update.

Msawawa - Wawungakanani

Trompies - Bengimngaka

Mujava - Township Funk (Skream Remix)

Sister Bethina

Mingo - Tshba Tsotsi

It's all huge soundsystems, Kwaito, heavy bass and hollering.
Keep sweating pig fans.

Where's Roc Raida...?

No one Greater on the ones and twos...
or on the cross fader...
He's better than your vibrator!!

Goes by the name DJ - ROC - RAIDER

This video was from LAST month on tour with the mighty Busta Ryhmes. Anthony Williams a.k.a. DJ Roc Raider died on September 19th 2009 from spinal injuries relating to a martial arts accident.

I have been a hip hop promoter first and foremost since 1996 promoting everyone one from Mos Def to The 45 King. I never got the chance to book the X-Ecutioners but it was always a dream of mine to have Roc and Rob and the rest of the crew come and play. This is a huge blow to the foundation of hip hop producers and DJs out there. Anthony was only 37!!

R.I.P.

Squire of Gothos

I'm not saying that Sheffield produces the best musicians in the world. I'm saying that the steel city produces the best musicians in the universe. Despite their appearances.

Squire of Gothos is the sound of 'dubstep but with less nerds and harder drugs,' or better 'hitting a woman copper in the face with a crow-bar (sic). Their name is adopted from a Star Trek character, but that's where the geek shit ends. This duo produce psychadelic baselines over 808 rave drums and obscure frantic samples to create a near apocolyptic soundscape of mayhem and release.

Here you have a free gift download that they may or may not be pleased about you having. I blame Club Bass and Wine who consistently be digging up the dope tunes and mixes for your ears.

Rift x Obey: Show love, drop knowledge!!

Barcelona heads should congregate here on Saturday night. Drink beer, skate a bit, check out the art of the infamous Fairey man, tunes galore and show Rift we appreciate the graft and dedication... Then a Mojito down Manolo perhaps?! Ahh, just thoughts but my god. It's better than working. 20:30 to 23:00 Hours. Do it.

A tune to get you in the mood... The Mother Fucking Gaslamp Killer Yo! (Obey Records). Shame on you if you missed him at Plat du Jour in June.

Straight after he interrupted Barack as well...

Show some respect man!!

D.I.Y. Dream Wedding

This is a moment from my friends' wedding ceremony, conducted by a humanist representative. That tree is so old it appears in the Magna Carta.

Despite spending hundreds rather than thousands of pounds on the event, it was an absolutely amazing day and night spent around a folly within 300 acres of grounds near Bristol. There were herds of deer knocking around too (not pictured.)

After the humanist man did his speech, and the vows were said by the novio y novia, this song was played so that everyone had time to think a little about what was going down. I think you'll agree it is a touching three minutes, and was almost enough to move your faithful orator to tears.

I wish you all the best, JJ & A.

Porto Pool Party

The idea of a pool party in the forest sounded irresistable, 3 euros in, 1 euro each your beers. And plus with a flyer like this, the jump off seemed to have everything.

AEROBICA TOUR @ Leça Pool Party w/ Twin Turbo

Resulta that it was far too cold to go near the water but it still looked good. There were no topless chicks but there were hot chicks leaving the rest to the imagination. The DJ, who could have been called twin turbo, dropped some bang a langers, including

whose amazing video seems to have disappeared of the very web. I do not know why.
