NYE!

Welcome, astral ravers, to the return to the the C3 of the Zodiac project. After last year's throwdown, in essence the birth of the Zodiac series, it was impossible to resist another gathering at the CCCB's charming C3 bar, who have this year granted us an extended timeframe to ensure every single party person in the place to be has the possibility to lose themselves in the style of this month's sponsor, Capricorn.

We have a stellar collection of spinners ready to lay it down from the grapes til the early morn. weird grooves and unsettling sounds will be provided by Sonic Reducer aka Arnau Sabate, the brain behind A Viva Veu. Slick Dixxx and Taser T make up a new syndicate specialising in soundtracks to any self-respecting illegal activity, and it goes by the name of C.R.I.M.E. DJ G and Fabian Roelandt will keep things rolling with a pristine selection of inter-generic club joints, while we are delighted to welcome back Ari Up to destroy the area round after round of dancefloor missiles. Special guesting on the bill will be Swedish tag-team Bella Boo & Ominous K, bringing the ultimate there could be in futuristic beats.

Tickets are still going for 10 euros in advance, exclusively from Discos Paradiso: hurry that ass up though, they sold out last time around. Those getting in before one will enjoy a reduced price of 12 euros, and my fashionably-late team best have 15 euros ready to pay our charming public relations team.

So. the location is central, the bar prices reasonable, the selectors on top of their games, the system banging, and the company charming. Join us for the latest rising of Zodiac.

Let's Disco

This Thursday I'm sneaking in through the back door to a spot I have yet to grace ni as DJ nor as guest: Marula.

It's a town-centre jump-off, I'm on at one and the place is supposed to be an authentic glitz-trip so anyone into raw live disco thuds and funk sections rounded off by a little roots of chicha best get theyself down.

Hallowe'en Misery & Confusion

Hi fiends,

Here's a mixtape that only people who are literally right on the edge of good/evil/don't know; played to those of weak constitution it may push you into the next category.

If I'm not impaled, I will be spinning this brand of audio molestation at Sameheads in Berlin this Sunday whilst people eat fried food, possibly of human origin.

It's going to be foul, don't come.

Zodiac's Back

Making tentative steps back into the field of party-throwing, here's the one-time World's Most Famous Virgin sitting atop a flyer for this weekend's most unmissable masked-disco party in Poblenou.

Some blurb I half wrote:

"An intimate event dedicated to the most virtuous of cumpleanyeros, Masked Ballers Burn Baby Burn combine with Astral Amblers Zodiac to present VIRGO.

"So innocent are our hosts that they insist all identities at the event remain hidden behind masks as the select certain someones gather to rejoice at the turning of another constellation.

"Providing sounds of playful variety and surprising depth will be SUNNY GRAVES, known on occasion as JAHBITAT, SLICK DIXXX, and DJ ROGER C.

"The venue is a precious corner of Poblenou, so far ignored by the socialites, whose cosy bar and dancefloor is uninfringed by curtain-twitching neighbour types.
"Both timetable and guest list are strictly limited, so make sure your 4 euro advance payment is made in good time to one of the event's 'administrators' and that you are there plenty early."

Making use of all the disco I picked up in England's cheap and pleasant charity shops, here's a special mix one time for your mind:

Cop This

Alex James might be a Tory twat but his ex (?) bandmate Damon Albarn doesn't seem to spend his free time swanning around with prize shitehawks such as Jeremy Clarkson & David Cameron.

No, the ex (?) lead singer of Blur has gathered together a top selection of electronic producers to contribute to this compilation described below.

"Kinshasa One Two was recorded in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo over 5 days this past July. DRC Music (a collective of producers gathered by Damon Albarn) set out to make an album with contemporary Congolese musicians and worked with more than 50 local performers including Jupiter and the Okwess InternationalBokatola System and Nelly LiyemgeDRC Music is comprised of producers: T-E-E-D (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs)Dan The AutomatorJneiro JarelRichard RussellActress,Marc AntoineAlwestRemi KabakaRodaidh McDonald and Kwes, with album artwork by Aitor Throup and Hardy Blechman. The Democratic Republic of Congo has long been wracked by conflict and is home to one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. Proceeds from the album will benefit the local performers and Oxfam's work in Congo."

"We feel incredibly fortunate to be involved in the journey that culminated in Kinshasa One Two. It's completely, brilliantly, unlike anything Warp has undertaken before, but nonetheless feels like a very natural endeavour for us to be a part of. We're supremely grateful to all the artists, musicians and producers who joined together to create this amazing record and shared a vision of contributing in some small way to benefit the people of the DRC."

This Train Keeps Rollin'

Hola bretheren,

Those summer months whizzed by, right?  Wrong!  Inna Barna it is still so hot that we've got the oven on full blast just to cool down.  To make matters even worse, I <3 Dubstep is back with me and my teaming fully on board, brutalising the brand new Funkion 1 soundsystem in the Rex at Razzmatazz.

As per, you can expect enormous sounds in the main room downstairs too, with apocalyptic sets from Iberian Bass Warriors Benvinda, Wasabii, La Crema and Barbarians, with Stormy's vocals to punctuate proceedings.

The shit is free with a flyer, or even an image thereof on one's mobile, til 1.30.  There'll be a queue so get in early cos I'm not picking up the phone once I'm in fiesta mode.

Semi PDJ Reunion Tonight!

I ♥ DUBSTEP from The RGB Corp on Vimeo.

Tonight me and Mr. Bricks aka Ominous K are back in the booth in a special UK Funk room in the Rex, freshly equipped with a Function One soundsystem and extra crazy spacelights.

Those with a flyer, or even an image of the flyer on they mobile, will find theyselves in the place to be for free, before 02.30 like, to see a stellar collection of dutty bassists like Fitzroy North, Primate of the Year & Bella Boo, who complete our line-up.

Of course, being Razz, there's no half measures, and the main room (thankfully free of teeny-boppers on a Thursday) will be headed by the sounds of Hatcha.

See you inside.
